Fighting TB Together: Persahabatan Hospital Launches the 2025 Tuberculosis i-ECHO

Tuberculosis (TB) remains one of the greatest health challenges in Indonesia.

In response to this challenge, Persahabatan Hospital (RSUP Persahabatan) has once again launched the 2025 Tuberculosis i-ECHO, a technology-based, interactive learning platform that connects experts, doctors, and health professionals from across Indonesia.

Utilizing a telementoring methodology, healthcare workers in various regions can directly consult with national experts regarding the management of Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (DR-TB). From general practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists to laboratory analysts, all can connect within this inclusive learning network.

Learning from Real Cases, Benefiting Real Patients

The program, which runs from August 14 to November 27, 2025, features 11 sessions covering topics directly relevant to field requirements, including:

  • Management of drug side effects,

  • Diagnosis of pediatric DR-TB,

  • Tuberculosis preventive treatment,

  • Drug governance and adverse event reporting, and

  • Communication strategies for patients and families.

Through a learning model based on real-life cases, participants can immediately apply the knowledge gained to improve the quality of services in their respective workplaces.

Tangible Benefits for Health Professionals and the Community

This program is more than just a scientific forum. More importantly, the TB i-ECHO is an investment in health professionals, boosting their confidence in managing complex TB cases. Ultimately, the greatest benefit will be felt by the patients: faster, more accurate, and more humane services. "Through the TB i-ECHO, we want to ensure that no healthcare worker is left working alone in TB management. We are all connected, learning together, and moving towards a TB-Free Indonesia by 2030," stated a representative from RSUP Persahabatan.

Commitment Towards a TB-Free Indonesia

This initiative is part of the national strategy of the Ministry of Health to strengthen the capacity of TB services nationwide. With a spirit of collaboration and technology, TB elimination by 2030 is no longer just a target, but a shared and achievable goal.
