How to Register for Free Health Checkups

209

The Free Health Checkup program started on February 10, 2025. The target of this program is the entire population of Indonesia, from newborns to the elderly.

The importance of this health checkup is based on data showing that more than 600,000 Indonesians die from cardiovascular diseases, such as strokes, which are often caused by unhealthy lifestyles and can actually be prevented with regular health checkups.

The purpose of this health checkup is to provide two recommendations to the public. For those in good health, guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle will be given. Meanwhile, for those detected with certain health conditions, medical services will be provided.

The public is encouraged to take full advantage of this opportunity. The free health checkup program is being implemented at primary healthcare facilities such as community health centers (Puskesmas) and clinics, with a priority on Puskesmas. Clinics will be gradually involved in the future.

Currently, there are 10,200 Puskesmas across Indonesia ready to carry out free health checkups simultaneously. Therefore, the public is encouraged to choose the healthcare facility closest to their residence to make the health checkup process more accessible.

There are three ways to register for the program:

  1. Through the Satu Sehat Mobile app – The public can check the schedule and locations of Puskesmas offering free health checkups.

  2. Through the WhatsApp chatbot at the number 081110500567 – This chatbot will guide the public through the registration process in an easy and practical way.

  3. Directly visit the nearest Puskesmas – For people in rural areas who do not have internet access, simply bring an ID card (KTP) or family card (KK), and the Puskesmas staff will assist with the registration process.

With the free health checkup program, the government aims to shift the healthcare service paradigm from a curative approach (treating after illness) to a preventive approach (prevention). Early disease detection can help with faster treatment and reduce the healthcare cost burden.

This free health checkup program also applies to school-aged children. From ages 7 to 17, including elementary, middle, and high school students, will have the opportunity to undergo health checkups at the start of each new school year.
